An emeritus employee told a lie thus my brother (a client of emeritus) is no longer permitted communication with his immediate family members! I have requested the name of the employee making this false claim vs me without success. I never told my brother that "I will try to break you out of there"! This was supposedly overheard by un-named employee! It never happened!! My brothers civil rights... Read more

Went to visit my mother in law at Emeritus , St. AUGUSTINE , back in August. Her room was filthy. The smell of urine was unbearable . Her bed was disgusting and as soon as we entered the building the staff said they couldn't get her to eat. We got her into her wheel chair , and as we were wheeling her out one of the staff girls said she would change her bed. We took her to the little eating area... Read more

I worked for emeritus...very crooked corporation. People are a commodity. They do not drug test employees. Rampant neglect and abuse of residents and employees. Take this warning seriously. I would say that emeritus does hire assistant/ staff with criminal backgrounds. They have phony background checks .I know of one assistant who was a felon convict repaying court feed and is a parolee. This... Read more

My mother was sent to hospital and it was 10 days before I was notified. Emeritus sent her without my cell phone and incorrect contact person (my brother who cannot speak due to a stroke). The hospital refused to release her back to Emeritus. Unfortunately after a weekend at another facility she was re admitted to the hospital where she died 5 days later. Now Emeritus is billing me for... Read more

With the pending takeover by Brooksdale which has a very bad reputation here in Florida the DON called and said we had to agree to an increase in level of care. Right now my aunt is at Level 2 in memory care but now they say she needs Level 3 which means about $500-600 more per month. Overall the care has not been that great. One shower/week and hair gets washed every other week. Dental... Read more

We were asked to complete a survey by the corporation. We did - and there were several issues stated. These were issues previously addressed with the facility and we thought that by relaying these to the corporation we might get a little further. Instead, the issues were just sent back to the facility who promptly called us. This just opens the door for retaliation and retribution against the... Read more

I just hope this particular facility in the South is keeping people to work there coz they actually deserve to be there and are doing their jobs and saying good things about the company and have the genuine care, compassion and respect for residents and employees, not just because they've been there for a long time. Obviously, they're only working there just for the money. This certain employee... Read more

Initially everything was great and we were very pleased with the care our relative received. Costs go up every year by 5 - 10 o/0 but at the same time the service provided has gone down since the facility is notoriously short staffed. Basic care items used to be provided free of charge but now we have to provide soap, toothpaste, Qtips, wet wipes etc. Medications seem to disappear. We are now... Read more

This whole Corporation of Emeritus Senior Living is a disgrace to the innocent Resident who cannot speak for themselves. Since I have been Employed with this company they have done nothing to resolve issues and concerns. They are always covering up Abuse, Medications Errors, Stealing and Care. We always have the Regionals come to our building and just make a mess of things. That's all they do... Read more
